Monferrato Rosso DOC 2013 DI.VINO

GRAPE VARIETY : Barbera 70% – Cabernet Sauvignon 30%

ORIGIN:

Selection of Barbera and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes coming from our estate vineyards planted in 1987 and 1990 with a South-West by Sud exposure in the village of San Marzano Oliveto.

VINIFICATION:

After a summer, green harvest, the grapes are late harvested to obtain the best sugar concentration. The grapes are blended at crushing and fermented in combination with maceration on the skins for about 15 days to maximize polyphenols ( colour ) and structure extraction. After a year in oak the wine is ready for drinking.

Alcohol content: 13.37% by vol.

Residual Sugar: 6,30 g/l

Total Alcohol: 13.75 % by vol.

Total Acidity: 6.07 g/l

Net dry extract: 31,70 g/l

CHARACTERISTICS:

The dark ruby red colour has violet highlights. On the nose it is intense with a dried fruits and red berry jam bouquet , and a light alcohol inkling. Full-bodied and intense on the palate, with hints of ripe berries, harmonious and slightly sweet.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS:

Perfect with every type of game, it’s a good match for structured meat dishes, ripened and blue cheese.
